Shipping:
Most orders are shipped the same or next business day. You will be notified via email of any back orders, or other delays in shipping your order. You may cancel any unavailable merchandise, or have a back-order entered at that time. All shipments are sent at our sole discretion via USPS or UPS, depending on type and weight of merchandise, and your location, unless otherwise requested by you at time of your order.
Dormition Skete prefers to ship via U.S. Mail (USPS) whenever possible.
USPS shipping options are USPS Express, Priority, or Parcel Post delivery.
UPS shipping options are Next Day Air, 2nd Day Air, 3 Day Select, and Ground.
Shipping and Handling Charges:
* U.S. Mail: Dormition Skete uses real-time USPS shipping quotes based on total order weight and adds a flat handling charge of $2.50 per order to cover the cost of shipping materials, insurance, and other administrative costs.
* UPS: Dormition Skete uses Real-time UPS shipping quotes based on total order weight, and adds a flat handling charge of $3.50 per order to cover the cost of shipping materials, insurance, and other administrative costs.
* Table Rate (Domestic Orders Only): All shipments using the Table Rate charges are sent at our sole discretion via USPS or UPS, depending on type and weight of merchandise, and your location.
International Orders:
Customers placing International Orders should use the USPS or UPS Real-time shipping quotes whenever possible, or should place their orders by telephone (719)395-8898.
Expedited Orders:
Expedited Shipping is available for most in-stock items. Generally speaking, orders must be placed before 10:30 am MST for it to ship that same day. Some items may not be available for expedited shipping. If we foresee a problem sending out an Expedited Order promptly, we will make every effort to contact the customer by email and/or telephone.

* UPS: Real-time UPS shipping calculator offers 3 day Select, 2nd day Air, and Next Day Air. Prices vary on weight, service and location.

Special Considerations:
Because Dormition Skete sells both mounted and unmounted icons, when we set up the Web Store, we were faced with the decision of whether to have these be separate items, or to combine them. Having them as separate items would have enabled us to calculate shipping properly for both the mounted and unmounted icons. However, when using the Web Store's Search functions, the customer would see two of each result - one for the mounted icon, and one for the unmounted icon.
Consequently, to avoid this problem, we elected to show each icon as one item, giving the customer the option to select an attribute to indicate whether her or she desired a mounted or unmounted icon. While this eliminates the "duplicate" search results, it results in excessive shipping rates for some unmounted icon orders.
If you are placing an order for unmounted icons, and you feel the shipping rates are excessive, please feel free to include a note in the "Add Comments About Your Order" section, and we will investigate the matter and will issue a partial refund to your credit card if we feel the charge is excessive. Alternatively, you may avoid this issue entirely by placing your unmounted icon order by telephone (719)395-8898.
Similarly, if you are making a donation and are charged shipping, please include a note in the "Add Comments About Your Order" section if you would like us to reverse the shipping charges, and we will issue a partial refund to your credit card for the shipping charges.
Because of the diversity of products we sell, which makes it very difficult to accurately calculate shipping charges for some products or product mixes, and because of the above considerations, Dormition Skete reserves the right to adjust shipping charges after the order is placed, and credit or charge the customer's credit card accordingly. We believe that in most cases, this will be to the customer's advantage; but there may also be cases where it may not be. If there is a significant difference, we will attempt to contact the customer of any additional charges before shipping the products.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by these technical challenges.
Return Policy: All merchandise is guaranteed to be of kind and quality shown. No returns without prior approval, and absolutely no returns after 30 days from receipt of merchandise, regardless of reason. All returned merchandise must be returned undamaged and in sellable condition unless you received it damaged. All return items must have an RMA number issued by us authorizing the return. Damage claims must be filed immediately with the delivering carrier, and we must be notified within 72 hours of receipt of damaged merchandise by you. Any authorized return other than for damage or error on our part will be subject to a restocking fee of not less than 15%, plus pro-rated shipping and handling. All returns must be carefully packed in the original packaging and shipping cartons (if practical), with all shipping charges prepaid.
Check, Cashiers Check and Money Orders: All funds must be in U. S. Dollars, drawn on an U. S. bank. No merchandise will be shipped until sufficient time has been allowed for all checks, regardless of type, to clear your bank (normally 10 working days) unless you have established a good customer history with us. If your payment is returned by your bank for any reason, you will be charged the maximum allowable fee for collection in your area, plus any fees assed by your bank. All returned checks may be reported to check approval or collection agencies.
Special Orders: All special orders must be paid in full at time of order, and may NOT be cancelled once we have ordered your merchandise. If paying by personal or business check, allow 10 working days for your check to clear before we order your special merchandise. |
